It’s based on an actual group I did for Anglos who were planning to begin a Hispanic outreach for their church in Dunn, NC. Some of these Anglos have continued their Spanish studies beyond the class and still have the website for a reference. They are now more equipped for reaching a people group. My daughter worked as song leader in the outreach and mentored one lady in leading worship. The lady is now pretty fluent in Spanish and proficient with her guitar and leading the singing. “Who would have thunk it?”
Most of the website was set up during an in-service workshop day for teachers. The presenter taught us about the free site, “Weebly,” with its offer of two free websites. Since I was doing the Dunn class, I decided to use the class as a guinea pig and give it its own website for learning tools. I have continued to add to it from my own supply of teaching tools collected over the years and stored in my garage in a mirror-moving box. Now I don’t have to watch out for spiders and dust to find a verb poster. It’s on-line. The project has been some work but so worth it, for me and others. (I am a retired Spanish teacher. I used to offer students bonus points to do verb posters for me by copying charts from our textbook. I kept the posters and used them over and over as I taught the classes multiple semesters.) This site proves it is OK to be a pack rat and use those resources you have collected.
I hope that the website and suggested book will be beneficial to you. Here’s the link:
