In a certain subdivision we met a lady who had trouble believing the Bible because of the age of Methuselah. Because she could not believe the Bible, she shut herself off from eternal salvation.
Apologist Frank Turek points out that if people can believe the miracle of Genesis 1:1, then they can believe any miracle in the whole book of Genesis. In other words, if God created it all, He can do anything else described in Genesis. Why not? Let’s give God some credit here.
Recently I’ve thought how tragic it would be to trade an eternity of eternal life when a few seconds of research could give someone assurance about the Bible forever. To test my theory, I did a quick Google search on the age of Methuselah and found 731,100 results in .50 seconds. Amazing! (Sounds like the fulfillment of Daniel 12:4…knowledge shall increase.) Some of the findings would leave someone confused, but at least it is the beginning. Similar investigation of the outstanding apologist Frank Turek would also yield a speedy find to build one’s faith. (See his website, www.crossexamined.com.)
By the way, Dr. Turek speaks at local churches. Check his site to see if he is speaking near you. He is based in Charlotte, NC. He will be in Wake County, NC, at Plymouth Church on Sunday, March 24, morning and evening services. If his books are too difficult for you, I am sure he can recommend something easier. His free videos on the Internet are well worth the investment of time.
